DEGAM Junior Academy
Welcome to the information pages of the Junior Academy of the German College of General Practitioners and Family Physicians (DEGAM).
DEGAM is a German scientific association of family physicians. Its primary objective is to promote family medicine in research and practice. In this respect, students and the promotion of young talent are particularly important to us.
Family medicine involves the provision of basic health care to all patients with physical and mental health problems in the form of emergency, acute and long-term care. General practitioners are specialists when it comes to treating the whole person and are the first port of call for patients, whatever their health problems may be.
The DEGAM Junior Academy is a nationwide program to support students that are interested in family medicine that is unique in Germany.
We offer a long-term sponsorship program that consists of individual mentoring by experienced family physicians. In particular, we provide support for students with their studies, including helping them prepare scientific papers and dissertations (for a PhD for example), and in planning their professional careers. We aim to support the best and the most motivated students.
Have we sparked your interest? Would you like to apply?
